Most PDRN serums put salmon DNA on the front of the box and leave polydeoxyribonucleotide off the ingredient list. Read ours.

PDRN Brightening Serum is a lightweight, fragrance free facial serum built around polydeoxyribonucleotide, the polynucleotide complex that Korean skincare made famous, backed by acetyl hexapeptide-8 and a three part hydration base. It is for the guy who wants hydration and a brighter, more even looking tone without a film, a scent or a silicone slip. Twice a day, on clean dry skin, before moisturizer.

The science

Polydeoxyribonucleotide is named on the INCI, not just the box. It is expensive and difficult to source properly, which is why so many brands reference it in marketing and skip it in the formula. In a cosmetic it is a hydrating active that supports a brighter, more even looking complexion.

Acetyl hexapeptide-8 is a peptide most brands at this price leave out. It is here for a smoother looking finish.

The hydration base is glycerin, sodium PCA and sodium hyaluronate, three humectants that hold water at the surface in three different ways, instead of glycerin doing all the work alone. Panthenol and propanediol condition and soften. There is no fragrance and no silicone, which is why it absorbs in seconds: nothing in the bottle is there to sit on top of your skin.

What it will not do

It will not do what an injectable skin booster does. That is a medical procedure, not a serum. It will not change your skin in a week either. Judge it at 8 weeks, photographed in the same light at the same time of day, and compare the photos, not your memory.

The standard

Every ingredient is on the INCI, in order of concentration. No proprietary complex, no fragrance to cover the base, no fairy dusting of the hero ingredient to justify the name. Manufactured in state of the art, FDA registered facilities in the USA, with best in class ingredients. Read the full standard.

How to use it

Apply 2 to 4 pumps to clean, dry skin. Massage over face and neck until absorbed. Use twice daily. Follow with moisturizer, and with sunscreen in the morning. It layers under sunscreen without pilling. Patch test first if your skin is reactive. Take a photo on day one and judge it at 8 weeks, not 8 days.

What is PDRN in skincare?

PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide, a polynucleotide complex that became popular through Korean skincare. In a cosmetic formula it is used for hydration and to support a brighter, more even looking complexion. It is a cosmetic ingredient, not a drug, and it is not the same thing as an injectable skin booster, which is a medical procedure and not something sold in a bottle.

How do I know a PDRN serum contains real PDRN?

Read the INCI list on the box or the product page. If polydeoxyribonucleotide or sodium DNA does not appear there, the product is selling the idea of PDRN rather than containing it. A front of box phrase like salmon DNA complex means nothing on its own. Ours names polydeoxyribonucleotide, and the full list is printed below.

Can you use PDRN serum every day?

Yes. This formula is built for twice daily use on all skin types. It contains no exfoliating acids and no retinoids, so it layers with the rest of a routine without stacking irritation. Patch test first if your skin is reactive.

Does PDRN serum work for men?

Skin does not have a gender. Male skin is on average thicker and produces more sebum, which makes a lightweight, fragrance free serum with no greasy finish a better fit than a heavy occlusive cream. That is exactly what this is.
